Very Thankful for His Protection ...

Archery hunted for six weeks in the woods of
Pennsylvania for this guy and
I got him but not in the manner
of my choosing ...



One dark and misty night traveling home
from an evening out with my husband
suddenly there he was ...
cars on my left and behind, I had no where to go.
I slowed down to make the impact lighter but
to no avail ... he flew thru the air as high as my van,
came down in the left lane and spun literally off into
the median. The vehicle in the left lane just missed him.
I almost got rear-ended in the process
but only by His grace we were not harmed.
$3600.00 damage but the sad part is the van is only worth
that much. Upsetting because it has been a very,
very good vehicle for us. Never any problems, no rust.
"They" said it is an "old" vehicle
and not worth the money to fix it.
That is upsetting in that now a vehicle payment
comes into play .... just what I don't want.
So we wait for the Lord's hand to move and provide ...

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men

who signed the Declaration of Independence ?

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors,

and tortured before they died.

Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.

Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army;

another had two sons captured.

Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or

hardships of the Revolutionary War.

They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes,

and their sacred honor.

What kind of men were they?

Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists.

Eleven were merchants,

nine were farmers and large plantation owners;

men of means, well educated,

but they signed the Declaration of Independence

knowing full well that the penalty would be death if

they were captured.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and

trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the

British Navy. He sold his home and properties to

pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British

that he was forced to move his family almost constantly.

He served in the Congress without pay, and his family

was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him,

and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer,

Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the battle of Yorktown , Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that

the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson

home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General

George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed,

and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed.

The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying.

Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill

were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests

and caves, returning home to find his wife dead

and his children vanished.

So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday

and silently thank these patriots.

It's not much to ask for the price they paid.

from Our Home to Yours! ....

Thanksgiving ...
So many years have passed away
Since Pilgrims on Thanksgiving Day
At Plymouth met with fervent prayer
Their gratitude and food to share.
This is our land-the plains and hills,
The valleys where the sunshine spills
An amber light on beans and corn
Each time a golden day is born.
Today we think of pioneers
Who braved all dangers, met all fears,
Who planted in fertile loam,
Who tamed frontiers to make a home.
For forest-store, for waterways,
For cotton fields, for mountain ore,
For mighty spires we sing our praise.
For scholars with intelligence
Who attained wisdom of the sage,
Who left their heritage to us

My Mother's Day Gift ....


My two sons decided to get me
a special gift for Mother's Day.
I wanted some books but
they decided on something I needed!

A NEW KITCHEN FLOOR!!
My hubby and the boys installed it themselves
Friday night and I feel like
I am in someone elses home ...

I had painted my cupboards and the
flooring is a perfect match to everything.

How blessed I am ...
wants verses needs ...
God always knows best!
